Product Line Manager – Position #1
Product Line Manager(Project Manager), Growing Telecom Firm, Stable/Solid Customers, New/Existing Product Lines.
Location:Â Dallas, TX
Reporting to the Director of Product Line Management, this key technical position interfaces directly with customers and customer facing organizations, and with internal engineering organizations. The position coordinates multi-discipline teams to realize the successful implementation of key features and product capabilities for their Ethernet and Access product lines.
What will you be doing?
* Interface directly with customers to understand key technical requirements and develop solutions to satisfy tactical and strategic customer needs.
* Communicate customer needs back into internal organizations to influence design and business priorities and to deliver timely solutions to customer programs.
* Coordinate with sales engineering and business development teams to prioritize product features across a broad range of opportunities
*Â Develop detailed technical specifications for new features and product capabilities.
* Research standards activities in related fields and disciplines to ensure conformance to relevant industry standards and practices.
* Collaborate with engineering resources to develop project plans and schedules.
* Develop technical presentations and operational documents describing feature and product operation.
* Manage internal manufacturing and business processes to realize successful program delivery.
* This position may involve some pre and post sales activities including network analysis and solution design, troubleshooting installations and customer training. Some travel (domestic and international) is required (<30%)
What kind of candidate are we looking for?
Someone who is interested in taking the next step out of full-time software development and into project management. Or, someone already with Project Management experience looking for a better overall opportunity.  You must have a strong combination of technical and communications skills. We also need a candidate with the following background:
*Bachelor’s in computer science or related area.
* Experience in data communications/networking technologies, as much of the following as possible:
 * Ethernet and network switching technologies and telecommunications infrastructure
 * TCP/IP protocols and network design
 * Network testers and protocol analyzers
 * Software, hardware and system engineering and design technologies
* Previous background in interfacing directly with customers.
* Excellent communications skills, both written and spoken
* Excellent organizational skills – ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
* Good negotiating skills
* Refined presentation skills – ideally experience presenting to senior management and executives

Salary: 100k -125k + Bonus(up to 10%) + 401K
