Product Line Manager for Operations & Planning

Growing Telecom Firm, Stable/Solid Customers, Packaging/Mfg. Processes, New/Existing Products

Location:  Dallas, TX

What will you be doing?

Primary responsibilities will be focused on the operational framework that involves the planning, developing, manufacturing and marketing of products of all product lines. Candidate will be monitoring product costs and drive and balance design-to-cost activities on top of new feature developments.
The position requires general Product Line Management support across a wide range of product issues with a focus on operational issues.
 
New Product Introduction:

  Update product structure with new products
 Create and maintain new products in R&D, Sales and Manufacturing tools (PDM, ERP )  

  Manage market and customer requirements for R&D, Sales and Manufacturing tools
Create and maintain data for Global Pricelist


Cost Tracking / Reduction
 Establish automatic way (tool-enabled) to track costs and to do volume related production planning
Thorough analysis of all existing sellable entities
Identify (with PLMs) design-to-cost options
Actively propose/push procurement / CEM transfer and engineering cost reductions and track progress
Revisions / Code Reductions


 Finalize Product Structures and Build Revisions

 Initiate product Code Reduction Project and track progress
 Drive decision and implementation for product customizations

Demand Planning

   Review monthly demand and planning processø     Define ramp-up demands for new products
       Estimate early and future demands (beyond 6-month sales view)
Interface to Operations
ø   Manage customization requirements especially for shipment and packaging
ø        Manage product Customizations
Manage product Change Requests and change orders

What kind of candidate are we looking for?

First of all, we need someone who is detail oriented and who has tracked packaging and manufacturing processes preferably in a telecommunications-related company.  We also need the following:

 B.S. degree in electrical engineering or related degree.
 3 or more years experience in telecommunication is preferred.
 Knowledge in Optical Networking / WDM / SDH / Ethernet.
 Strong communication and presentation skills.
 Experience in complex technology and complex projects.
 Excellent skills in analytical thinking and judgment.
 Experience with database, spreadsheet analysis and presentation tools.

Salary:  90k – 100k  + Bonus(up to 10%) + 401K
