Interface with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and the Customer at the appropriate technical level to assist with the definition, design, test, and support of communications systems. Examples include assist in the writing of white papers and specifications in support of the system development cycle. Support Marketing and Engineering in responding to RFx’s. Assist in the definition of system architectures. Assist with test plan definition for design verification and product qualification testing. Meet with customers to better understand the system requirements. Review product documentation for clarity and accuracy. Must be able to rapidly assimilate information to a working knowledge. Must possess good communication skills both oral and written. Previous systems engineering experience. Knowledge of networking, routing, outside plant, xDSL, embedded software/hardware, NGDLC, DSLAMs, SONET, TR-303, VoIP, Ethernet, VPLS/MPLS, RPR, ATM, etc. BS EE, CPE or CS minimum. MS preferred.
