What will I be doing?
The successful candidate will lead a team in the development and integration of Operating Systems (O/S) into new mobile devices. The team is responsible for the kernel, device drivers, file system and the audio and video framework for wireless devices. This team also develops the memory management, bootrom, code loader and simulators for these devices.
The candidate’s experience will include people management skills as well as technical leadership over design and integration of a real-time embedded O/S, developing code to manage hardware peripherals within embedded devices, creating desktop tools to interface with embedded devices, and participating in low-level debugging efforts with the ASIC, Circuit board, and Power groups. As well, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating project activities within the group, and will assist with hiring and staff development.
Essential Skills And Qualifications
o  Minimum (7) years experience in software development
o  Experience in leading successful Software teams is desired
o  Experience with device drivers, communication protocols and/or multimedia
o   Solid understanding of operating system principles
o   Extensive C programming experience required
o   Ability to dissect a problem and form solutions that meet real-time constraints
o   Capability of taking on responsibility for a substantial portion of a project
o  Independent work ethic to bring tasks to completion.
Additional Assets
o  Experience working on Mobile phone OS
o  Assembly language programming experience (ARM, Intel or other)
o   Experience with wireless technologies. GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, BT, GPS
Salary: 110k – 125k + Bonus Plan

What will I be doing?
The successful candidate will lead a team focused on development and integration of leading-edge radio protocol stack software for standardized wireless technologies. Design, implement and integrate L1/L2/L3 layers and Radio Frequency (RF) device drivers for cellular and non cellular radios in mobile phone. Interface with Hardware Development team for software driver support, schematic reviews and debugging, developing and integrating hardware specific calibration methods and supporting RF certification/conformance testing activities.
Essential Skills And Qualifications
o  Minimum (7) years experience in embedded software development for L1/L2/L3 layers and Radio Frequency (RF) driver development for mobile phones
o  Minimum (2) years experience providing technical leadership in the development and integration of Radio Software for industrial products in any of the following wireless technologies: WiMax, LTE, HSDPA/HSUPA/WCDMA, GSM/GPRS/EDGE or 802.11
o  Demonstrated ability to assemble and develop talented engineering teams including process for training, mentoring, recruiting, goal setting and providing feedback
o   Prior experience in current wireless technologies, particularly GSM/GPRS/EDGE  and WCDMA/HSDPA
o  Solid understanding of cellular protocol stack in various cellular technologies
o  Understanding of RF hardware programming, analog/digital hardware, radio components in RF chain and associated control loop algorithms (AFC, AGC, APC) is required
o   Real-time software development of radio subsystem
o    Experience in low-level programming and hardware level debugging
o    Ability to dissect a problem and form solutions that meet real-time constraints
o    Capability of taking on responsibility for a substantial portion of a project
o   Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms. Knowledge of DSP architectures
o    Familiarity with 3GPP standards, particularly those related to radio protocols
o    Requires BSEE/CS, MSEE/CS a plus
