Description: Business Planning, Vision, Strategy and Tactics –Ability to set a vision for the product or product line, determine strategy and tactics that are executable in light of SWOTs. Understanding target markets and customers for the market and ability to translate market and/or customer requirements into product features. Product Development, Release Planning and Life Cycle Management—Ability to manage the program stack, establish and modify priorities and define new instances of products and/or release to achieve overall business objectives. Mange product enhancements and costs throughout the life of a product. Develop sound product withdrawal and migration plans. Customer Situation Analysis and Problem Solving—Manage product development cycles and customer implementations. When things do not go according to plan (i.e. product problems and unforeseen competitive threats) have the capability to understand the situation, develop plans for resolution and ensure the problem is solved. Business Fundamentals-Knowledge of business fundamentals including financial an cost accounting, Ability to understand the impact of products on our customer’s business and to articulate by creating a business case with cost/benefit analysis. Collaterals and Content Generation (Messaging, Presentations, White papers, etc)-Perform analysis of the business situation and develop collateral to position products for success. Customer/Sales Force Interaction-Ability to support sales force through telephone, e-mail and face-to-face interactions, and to make presentations with clarity and enthusiasm. Price quote Analysis-Ability to analyze a price quote in light of current business conditions and to make justifiable approval/disapprove decision. Tools-working knowledge of business tools like Microsoft Office and demonstrable ability to quickly learn new tools. Network Access Market Knowledge-strong knowledge of access solutions including voice, data, T1/E1, HDSLx, Special Services, ISDN
Education: Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years practical work experience in the telecommunications industry. MBA highly desired.
Experience: Responsible for managing the product life cycle. Ensures revenue goals for the product families are achieved. Communicates through presentation and collateral creation to customers, sales organizations, peers and management. Operates under general supervision with latitude for independent judgement, reporting to Director, Product Management, Broadband Access for Carrier Networks Division. Must be willing to do what it takes to make the business successful

Description: Responsible for all aspects of product life cycle management. Responsible will include establishing product line direction for existing products; defining target market segments; defining product requirements; performing competitive analysis; tracking industry trends, product segment growth, and market share; supporting the sales force through preparation of presentation material, training, and joint sales calls to key customers; and other duties as assigned.
Education: BSEE, BSCS, or equivalent work experience
Experience: Technical knowledge of data communications products and applications. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and organization skills. Proficient use of word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software. Knowledge of Ethernet over copper solutions preferred.
