Exceptional Enterprise Sales Engineer with systems engineering responsibility for Enterprise Accounts in the New York Metro Area. There is an additional role for a Chicago based SE. Position


Strong technical experience with supporting sales in the selling of optical and/or IP infrastructure equipment into Enterprise accounts in the above geography is required.

Highly motivated, strong interpersonal skills, ability to handle many competing priorities within customer accounts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

– Network and applications engineering for the company`s products

– Consult with potential and current customers on application of products for next generation architectures

– Complete network designs for customer application of networking products

– Become proficient in use of network design and modeling tools

– Prepare quotations and assist in proposal preparation for switching products

– Provide product and technical expertise to support Sales efforts of switching products

– Prepare design and applications presentations

– Interface with sales group and product management/marketing to develop and/or propose product enhancements to meet customer requirements

– Gain understanding of Siebel

– 50%+ travel required


Technical expertise in data networking including understanding of IP, ATM and other data networking protocols

General technical knowledge of fiber optic transmission systems (especially SONET), telecommunication networks and network management

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Excellent presentation skills

General knowledge of computers and application programs (i.e. MS Office)

Flexible, able to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision

The ability to demonstrate experience in technical sales activities

BSEE or equivalent

5-7 years telecommunication industry experience

Optical and/or storage expertise desired

Prior experience as a contributor on a sales account team with enterprise/channel sales experience
